Bangers A Smash For Local Deli

Local deli OHO are being inundated with buyers trying to track down packets of Lashford’s sausages since House Of Fraser decided to stop selling the popular local sausauges.

The bangers have been “flying off the shelves” according to OHO co-owner Ashley Eades since fans discovered that the Harborne deli were the only local stockist.

Lashford’s have been made in Hall Green for 120 years by meat and poultry firm AW Lashford and Son which has been supplying House Of Fraser for 25 years but the department store decided to drop the sausages in favour of those made by Jimmy’s Farm in Suffolk, which has appeared in newspapers and on TV

Mr Eades said the department store’s loss was their gain and added "It seems crazy that they’ve got probably the best sausages in the country on their doorstep, yet have decided to stop selling them and substitute them for a sausage made hundreds of miles away.”

Since being dropped by the department store Lashford’s co-owner Steve Lashford said that he had had a lot of calls from customers asking where they could buy the sausages locally.

It appears that the sausages have a strong local following and people seem only too pleased to travel to Harborne to stock up on the quality bangers.
